The Left on Social Sec.

Arrrgggghhhh! Ah, Howard Dean. That guy rocks.

So, since I posted an article with the Republican ideas aboutSocial Security, I thought I would throw what Howard Dean has to say on the subject.

You will see that, he is not infavor of privatizing social security because it will apparently leave Americans behind and cost the US trillions in debt. He doesn't allude to where those numbers come from, he just throws them out there to scare people.

Now, I am not gonna just bash Dems on this blog, just this particular issue. As I stated before, most people straddle the two parties on issue to issue....this one I just lean a little to the right on.

I really think the "private social security accounts" thing is a non-starter: it would simply cost way too much to administer. But that's been a classic of this government: they say they are republican, but they are really big-government people.

Either have social security or get rid of it, but don't have this half-way thing. Actually I am for Social Security, in that it does seem to reduce old age poverty significantly and it keeps people off the street about whom I would otherwise have to worry myself.
